“ If you’re looking for a place to have good food, this is the place. Had dinner there tonight and the food was amazing and Silvia was a sweetheart. Her story speaks for itself. Her story is on the front of her menu and is guaranteed to make you want to support her even more. I will be back. Check it out! ”
“ We were so lucky to happen upon this gem of a restaurant! On our way further upstate, we saw this sweet little restaurant was open and served salads, so we took a chance. We're so glad we did! The salad was so fresh and nutritious, and the balsamic dressing was on point. A nice variety of fresh homemade bread was served warm. Silvia herself presented us with an unbelievable Ukrainian cabbage soup. I’d include a photo, but it was gone before I could take one. The Polish Falcon Melt was the best kielbasa I’ve ever had (very light and sweet)...also on fresh homemade bread. The pirogues (we had cabbage and cheese) were perfectly seasoned and so yummy. We tried the homemade lemonade and it was so sweet and delicious. Everything is fresh and it’s amazingly light for such filling food. The portions are generous, so we got to enjoy the leftovers even more later in the day. Highly recommend this sweet little place, like eating in the kitchen of your favorite aunt. The prices are fair and there appears to be space for special occasions, so check that out as well. Silvia was an attentive hostess and really made us feel at home. Totally worth a special trip—we’ll be back for sure. Check it out!! ”
“ My family went here today for the Thanksgiving Buffet (this was my first time ever not cooking for Thanksgiving and going out to eat) The food, the atmosphere and the service was absolutely amazing. I honestly can’t believe all the different food and variety that was there. Sylvia was also there and made everyone feel at home. When I left Sylvia wished us a happy Thanksgiving and gave me a big hug. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant. ”
“ The owner Silvia and her staff are warm and inviting, along with the atmosphere, and the food was how real food should taste, made from scratch and delicious. The goulash special was absolutely delicious as was the stuffed cabbage and kielbasa appetizer, and salad. Old world hospitality is what you'll get at Silvia's, and take an order of pierogies home for a midnight snack! ”
“ 4/12/25 While out shopping I was in the mood for a pastrami or corned beef sandwich, using google I found Silvia's Thompsonville cafe. When you enter the restaurant you will see Silvia, you can read her BIO on the menu. I am a foodie and always looking for food that is comfort food, homemade and delicious. I ordered a Pastrami sandwich, which comes with fries. Silvia asked if I wanted something while I waited for the sandwich. She suggested the clam chowder since it was a cold and miserable day outside. I said OKAY, thinking I would have to season it up. Nope it came out hot and to my taste which is unusual with warm bread and butter. The portion of the soup could have fed two people. It was the best clam chowder I have had I a LONG time. Sandwich came out was made perfect and tasted like it should. If you are a foodie, I highly recommend Silvia's, I know there will be something on the menu you will like. Oh yes, it states on the menu that all food is prepared after ordering it, so you know it will be freshly made and to perfection. This is a honey hole for your appetite also one of the best priced menus I have seen while in CT. Try and be like Mikey you will like it. ”
“ I was visiting for a 1st time with my fiance. Our experience was absolutely wonderful. The personal attention we received was delightful. The suggested wine was delicious. The meals we ordered were delicious, the quantity was enough for a meal or two the next day. It was so refreshing interacting with Sylvia and her staff. We were treated with the utmost respect and care. I loved the diversity and blending of cultures of the people there and the food that they serve. We will be back. ”
“ Amazing little restaurant. Cute atmosphere and staff was great. Reminds me of my Grandmother! Food was definitely delicious and Just like I remembered making with my Grandfather when I was young. ”
“ We had a great experience and the food was delicious. The bread was amazing. It's a good thing I don't live closer or I would want to buy it every day. Silvia is so talented and everyone does a great job! It's a good idea to call and make reservations. We plan to go again. ”
